An unusual process, I collaborated with this man's daughter on an oil portrait of her Dad. It's an ego challenge to allow another into the work, and I was concerned in the beginning. I released the idea of the finished work, let go of expectations, and prayed it was what they wanted.

The oil portrait now lives on the mantle. Ahhhh.

My subject's daughter finished this piece. I painted the base painting, and Alexandra confidently stepped in, paintbrush in hand.

She cranked the Beatles, leapt into creation mode, and danced paint playfully onto this canvas to create her personal expression of her dad in disguise as the Pirates of the Caribbean’'s ‘"Jack Sparrow!"

She and I had a blast completing this portrait of her Dad.
